Gert Dooreman is a Flemish illustrator and designer. Born in Herentals, he studied at the Sint-Lucas School of Arts in Ghent. He began his career as an illustrator for papers and magazines like De Morgen, Humo, Playboy, De Gentenaar and De Standaard. His main focus has been typography and design since 1984.
He has done restylings for Humo and De Standaard, and has designed many books for the Leuven-based publisher Kritak, the Ghent Poetry Centre and Dutch publisher Bert Bakker. Dooreman has worked intensively with photographer Michiel Hendryckx during a period of 20 years, and is probably best known for his cooperations with Belgian writer Tom Lanoye since 1983.
