Tijs Dorenbosch was from Den Bosch. He took courses at the Academies of Tilburg and Antwerp. He published his first comics before the War, which he signed with Tee Dee, TD, Tijs D. or Beiaardier. For instance, he made 'Sjefke Schrober' in Engelbewaarder, 'Henkie van 't Grijze Nest' in Verkennersblad, 'Pieternel' in Witte Margriet and later on, in 1942, 'Heintje Hups en Honkie' in De Week in Beeld. 'Heintje Hups' reappeared in 1948-1950.
Dorenbosch cooperated on magazines like St. Jansklokken ('Engelientje', 'Job zonder Kop', 'Helleveegje'), Thuisgezin, De Maandagmorgen, Dagblad Noord-Brabant en Zeeland and Stuiversblad (later Okido).
In addition, he illustrated several children's books. In the final years of his life, he was famous for 'Pauke Pruimedant' and 'Grootvader Tobias', which appeared weekly in Bosche Bisdomblad until his death in 1978.
