Wambi (Jungle Comics #100, April 1948)
Archie Comics script writer Frank Doyle was born in 1917 in Brooklyn, NY. After attending Pratt University, he began his career as an artist at Fiction House, drawing features like 'Crusoe Island', 'Flint Baker', 'Glory Forbes', 'Life on Other Worlds', 'Space Rangers' and 'Wambi'. He also did 'Lash Larue' and 'Rocky Lane' for Fawcett and romance stories for Better Publications. In 1951, Doyle moved to Archie Comics. He was associated with the company until his death. He wrote over 10,000 comics with the 'Archie' characters. In addition, he wrote the syndicated comics 'There Oughta Be A Law' (1965) and 'Robin Malone' (1970). Doyle died on April 3, 1996.
