Franky Drappier is a Belgian graphic designer, commercial artist and comic artist from Ghent. He was educated at the Sint-Lucas Art School in this city, and has worked through his company FD-Media since 2005. In 2015 he was one of the participating artists of a benefit comic book for the Kinderkankerfonds (Children's Cancer Fund), starring the local puppet theater hero Pierke. With scriptwriter Jan Kragt, he made a comics biography of George Maduro (1916-1945), a Dutch war hero and the posthumous name giver of the miniature city Madurodam in Scheveningen. 'George Maduro-Held van Curacao tot Madurodam' (2016) was also published in Papiamento, because Maduro was originally from the Colony of Curaçao. The book was released through Eureducation, Kragt's publishing label through which he has also released several educational comic books with Marc Verhaegen. Frank Drappier has also done inking work for Charel Cambré on the 'Suske en Wiske' spin-off series 'Amoras'.
