Fabien Esnard-Lascombe, who is best known as Mr Fab, was born in Paris. He studies graphic design at the Atelier Met de Penninghen in Paris, then fashion design and illustration at the Royal Academy of Arts in Arnhem, the Netherlands. He worked with Jean-Paul Gaultier from 1992 to 2006, as his assistant on various costume designs for show business, as a designer for printed fabrics and as designer/illustrator for exclusive items sales to Haute Couture customers.
He now forms a costume designing team with Françoise Bourrec (a.k.a. Chattoune), working for film, TV and commercials, among other things. Mr Fab is also working as a comic artist for Delcourt publishing. He drew the first installment in the 'Spyder' series by Sébastien Latour, and has also drawn several albums in the series 'Jour J' since 2011. With the writing team of Jean-Pierre Pécau, Fred Blanchard and Fred Duval, he has made '1917', the first book of the series 'L'Homme de l'Année' for Delcourt in 2013.
