The Silent Three by Evelyn Flinders

Evelyn Flinders demonstrated unusual artistic promise and was permitted to enter Hornsey Art School at the age of fifteen. Her goal was to work for the Amalgamated Press. Flinders' first break came with 'Schooldays' in 1928. By the time she was 21 years old, Flinders illustrated stories for virtually all the AP's girls' weeklies. Evelyn Flinders was particulary adored for her long-running serials about 'The Silent Three'. The trio were the front page stars of School Friend, which first appeared on 20 May, 1950. A total of fifteen picture serials came from her pen before Evelyn Flinders retired in 1959.
