Freddy, by Henri Fox

Henry Renard, who used the pseudonym Fox, worked for magazines like Jeudi, Marius, Panorama, Clarté, Ici-Paris, Le Hérisson, Le Petit Canard and L'Almanach Vermot in the 1930s and 1940s. He published his first comic story, 'Ricounet contre Tacata', in Cadet Journal in 1946, and then began a collaboration with the publications of the Société d'Edition Générale. His comic 'Dod et Jog' was published in Pic et Nic, Sonic and Smash, 'Sin-Sou' appeared in Sans Peur, 'Ce Risquetout de Freddy' in L'Invincible, and 'Flash' in Yphon. In 1952, he succeeded Martial on 'Arthur et Goupillon' in Zorro. In that same year, he created 'Ricou et Toup' for Pierrot. In 1958, he produced 'Toutsy' for Champion and 'Nostrapontin' for the Pitchounet pocket. Fox made 'Pat, Mic et Roi' and 'Sigismond' for Lisette in the late 1950s. The artist passed away in the mid-1960s.
