Stripburger comic by Ursula Furst

Ursula I. Fürst is a Zürich-based Swiss illustrator and comic artist. Her first book was 'Der Baum, der Vogel und der Junge', that was published by Sauerländer Verlag in 1976. It was followed by 'Riesen haben kurze Beine' in cooperation with Heinrich Hannover for Rowohlt in the same year.

She has subsequently published her graphic novel 'Die Ballade von der Typhoid Mary' (1980) and an adaptation of Jürg Federspiel's 'Lobby Ladies' (1998) with Edition Moderne, and has also contributed to the publisher's collective project 'Alice im Comicland'.

Fürst made the drawings for the picture book 'Windjo' by Dieter Meier for Limmat Verlag in 1981. She has contributed to such international magazines and anthologies as Strapazin (Switzerland), Magazine Tages Anjeiger (Switzerland), Wochengeitung Woz (Switzerland), Formaline (Belgium), Le Donne Ridone (Italy), Apokalispa (Slovenia), Old Cake Comix (Holland) and Stripburger (Slovenia).
