Nicholas Garland was a well-known political cartoonist with the Daily Telegraph. After studying Fine Art at the Slade School of Art, he became the paper's first political cartoonist in 1966. He is the creator of the comic strip 'Barry McKenzie' with Barry Humphries. It ran in Private Eye from 1964 to 1974. Garland's work has also appeared in The Independent, The New Statesman and The Spectator.
