Luiz Gê started his career drawing caricatures for newspaper O Estado de São Paulo. He founded comics magazine Balão in 1972. He studied architecture at the University of São Paulo. His comics appeared in several magazines in Brazil and abroad. Luiz Gê became art director of magazine Status in 1985 and editor of Circo in 1986. In 1994 he was appointed as a teacher at the Universidade Mackenzie in São Paulo. He won many prizes for his comic work.
