Leslie M. Golden, a resident of Oak Park, Illinois, has had a diverse career as a comic strip author and cartoonist, taking subjects from his interest in politics and other careers as a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, musician, environmentalist, astronomer, UFO lecturer and professor. He has had his work published in Chicago-area newspapers (Wednesday Journal, among other papers) and international gambling magazines and may be best known for his 1980s strip 'Captain Industry' for the Lerner Newspapers.
His content ranges from politically controversial to school-boy silliness. His textbook, 'Laboratory Exercises in Physics for Modern Astronomy' (Springer-Verlag, 2012), includes numerous of his comic illustrations. He holds the B.A. and M. Engineering Physics from Cornell University and the M.A. and Ph.D in astronomy from the University of California, Berkeley, and credits Betty Edwards, author of Drawing On the Right Side of the Brain, as his major artistic influence.
