Perry Allen - Rubber! (Headline Comics 3, 1943)

Doug Grant was an American illustrator and advertising artist. Born Douglas Malcolm Grant in Oakland, California, he served in the Army during World War I, he settled in New York City and spent the next 26 years in advertising art. During this period, he also attended the Art Students League and the Grand Central Art School. He was active as a comic book artist in the early 1940s, through packagers like Chesler and Funnies Inc.

He drew 'Blue Blaze', 'Captain Daring' and 'Stuporman' for Timely, and drew the 'Perry Allen' feature in Headline Comics by Prize. He was one of the artists of True Comics by Parents' Magazine Press and by the late 1940s, he drew for romance titles by Fawcett. Grant retired from commercial art in 1946 and moved to North Carolina. He was a member of the American Society of Water Colorists, and also worked as a teacher at the Pratt Institute, Art Career School and Cooper Union.
