Michel Grant was born in Levallois-Perret, France, into a Canadian family. The Grant family returned to Quebec two years later. While studying, Grant was occupied with the comics news magazine Paraclet. In 1983 he settled in Montreal and worked on several animation and publishing projects. In 1988 he created the science fiction comic 'Argon' for the magazine Bambou with Louis Paradis and Salvador Dallaire. By 1989, he was working as an illustrator for advertising agencies. In addition, he created the comic series 'Ti-Guy' whose adventures were published by his own Éditions B'Artbo from 1997. The character also appeared in Zine Zag, the magazine edited by Salvador Dallaire.
