Stephen Grout was an American illustrator, who drew among others for Liberty magazine in the 1930s. In 1944, he illustrated adaptations of 'The Case of the Crooked Candle' and 'The Case of the Black-Eyed Blonde' for the King Features 'Book-of-the-Month' feature.
