Rock Vanguard, by Antonio Guerrero

Antonio Guerrero Pinin is a Spanish artist and painter from Málaga, who was active as a comic book artist during the 1960s and 1970s. Among his first work were twelve issues of the 'Flash Gordon' inspired 'Rock Vanguard' with writer Miguel González Casquel for Rollán between 1958 and 1962. He then worked for Jaimito ('El Arquero Negro') and several collections fo the publishing house Toray, including 'Espionaje', 'Relatos de Guerra', 'Brigada Secreta', 'Novelas gráficas clásicas' and 'Hombres famosos'). He also worked for Editorial Maga ('El Gavilán', 'Rayo de la Selva') and Valenciana ('Apache King', 'El Justiciero Negro').

During the 1970s, he made 21 issues of 'Luchadores de Espacio', based on the sci-fi novel collection, again with González. The comic books were published by Editorial Valenciana, and also in France by Impéria. He also did art on several comic adaptations of novels in the collection Joyas Literarias Juveniles by Bruguera ('Sangre Romañola', 'Los Mercaderes de Pieles', 'Los Mineros de Alaska'). He later turned to painting.
