Matt Haley was born in Houston, Texas, but later relocated to New Mexico for his formative years. After a chance reply to his art submission, he was hired to work on licensed 'Star Trek' books for DC Comics, then gained a solid fan base by drawing a Dark Horse comic entitled 'Ghost', which invigorated his love of pulp adventure themes, and his fan base ballooned with his work on 'Birds of Prey' for DC, which has recently been turned into a popular television show.
He then became a writer/artist, co-creating such titles as 'Tangent: Joker', 'C.H.I.X.', 'The Order', 'Elseworld's Finest: Supergirl and Batgirl', 'Gen13: Science Friction' and 'Jack Hunter: G.I. SPY'. He has also provided illustrations for Adidas US, Premiere Magazine, KenzerCo, Wizards Of The Coast, TSR, and many more. More recently, he has illustrated the 'Superman Returns' movie adaptation and he has also worked on the 'Who Wants To Be A Superhero' TV series.
