Arctic Circle by Alex Hallatt

Alex Hallatt is a comic artist from Seaton, UK. She grew up in a cottage home in Dorset, England, and got her degree in Biochemistry from the university of Kent at Canterbury. Her first regular comic strip was about a character who was half man, half mosquito, and it ran in her university paper. She moved to the United States upon graduation and settled in New Jersey. She developed a comic strip that would later become 'Arctic Circle' while working as a waitress.

She eventually worked in clinical research for seven years before returning to cartooning in 1999. She had a job with Brighton's daily newspaper until she moved to Lyttelton, New Zealand, in 2003, and then Australia in 2008. It was the Australian Regional Press that first began running 'Arctic Circle' in 2005. Hallatt's strip has been syndicated to newspapers around the world by King Features since 2007. She returned to England in 2012.

Hallatt also makes the bi-monthly feature 'Midge Bristol Investigates' for CSIRO's Scientriffic magazine in Australia.
