Vincent Hardy studied at the Institut Saint-Luc in Mons, where he obtained his degree in Plastic Arts. From 1978 he made his first short comics for Spatial, a magazine published by Michel Deligne. Four years later, he founded his own publishing house, Nallet-Boirunvert, that published his own "sporadical periodical" Insolitudes. At the same time, Éditions du Mirroir published his 'Le Courseur et Autres Histoires Drôles'. In 1986 started the absurd and somewhat futuristic series 'Ashe Barrett'.
