Jack R. Hearne was a comic book artist during the 1940s. Working through shops like Binder Studios, Funnies Inc and Iger Studios, he drew covers and features like 'Dick Cole', 'Bull's Eye Bill' and 'Rick Richards' for Novelty Comics (a.o. Blue Bolt, Four-Most Comics).
He did backgrounds on 'Black Owl' and 'Yank and Doodle' for Feature Comics, and illustrated 'Connecticut Yankee' in Gilberton's Classics Illustrated series. In the 1950s, he briefly inked Al Williamson in EC's Weird Fantasy, and ghosted on Frank Frazetta's 'Johnny Comet' strip. He then moved on to magazine and advertising art.
