Bruno Heitz moved to Italy by bike at age seventeen. He began his career writing children's books. He has created several comics for Seuil publishers, such as 'Boucherie Charcuterie, même Combat', 'Un Privé à la Cambrousse', 'Une Magouille pas Ordinaire', 'Le Bolet de Satan', 'Les Fantômes du Garde-Barrière', 'Chambre Froide' and 'Virage Dangereux', among others.
Heitz was one of several artists to pay graphic homage to Jean-Marc Reiser in the collective tribute comic book 'Reiser Forever' (Denoël, 2003).
Bruno Heitz was admired by veteran artist Wolinski.
