Hernán Vidal, best known as Hervi, has published in most of the main humorous and political publications of his country since the 1960s. He began his career in a juvenile supplement of El Mercurio, drawing the comic 'El Doctor Jeringotti'. He created the little angel 'Malaquías' for the Catholic weekly La Voz, and assisted 'Condorito' artist Pepo for a a couple of years. He eventually joined El Pingüino. Hervi drew political cartoons for the magazine Hoy, since its first issue in 1977. In the 1980s, he drew 'Super Cifuentes' for La Bicilceta, and began collaborations with La Tercera. Hervi's work also appeared abroad, such as in the Italian and Spanish editions of Playboy, as well as the Spanish magazine El Jueves.
