Matthew Hess is an American comic book artist and activist from San Diego, California. He is the creator of the somewhat remarkable superhero 'Foreskin Man', that is later accompanied by 'Vulva Girl'. Since the first issue in 2011, Hess campaigns against circumsision in all sorts and forms. From ritual circumsisions in Kenya and the Philippines to female genital mutilation; each issue has a different theme. Some issues gained criticism from Jewish organizations like the Anti-Defamation League. Hess is also the President of the non-profit organization MGMbill.org, that tries to pass a law that ends male genital mutilation.
