Julie Hollings was part of the British female comix scene of the 1980s. She contributed to underground publications like Tits & Clits Comix and Wimmen's Comix. She has contributed two stories to 'Outrageous Tales from the Old Testament', published by Knockabout Comics in 1987 (scripts by Neil Gaiman and Carol Bennett), and to the 'Seven Ages of Women' paperback. For 2000 AD, she has drawn the series 'Dire Streets'. Between the late 1980s and early 1990s, she drew 'Beryl the Bitch', a gag comic about an egotistical yuppie, published in the adult comic magazine Deadline. The title was a pun on David Law's children's gag comic 'Beryl the Peril'.
