Hong Seung-woo started his career as a member of the collective Nemorami, which reunited students from Hongik university. He worked in a more traditional way than the other artists in this group, getting his inspiration from the children's comics from the 1970s. He adjusted his style for the medium he worked for. Traditional stories for the commercial magazines and short comments on society for the daily press. In his 'Bibimtoon' series, he uses his own experiences as a dad to create a humorous series.
