Comic strip artist Alex Howell drew 'Butch and Dougie' for King Features Weekly from 1990 to 2001 and for DBR Media between 2001 and 2007. From January 1990 until February 1995 he drew the 'Mickey Mouse' newspaper strip, with scripts by Floyd Norman. During this period the authors dropped the gag strip format and returned to adventure continuities in the tradition of the early Floyd Gottfredson comic strips.
