Jazz Maynard

Roger Ibañez Ugano studied Comic Art at the Escola Joso. He published several short stories in cooperation with A. Garcia in the fanzine GÑ! in 1993. He won the first prize in a manga contest held by Editorial Norma in the following year, and published some stories in the manga periodical Otaku.

The publishing house Cameleon published his stories in the magazine Sukube, and also released his book 'Hiromi' (script by A. Garcia). Between 1999 and 2001 he was present in Penthouse Comix with '14 BD', his first cooperation with Raule. He additionally assumed the pseudonym Nono and contributed to American erotic magazines like Sizzle.

He continued his collaboration with Raule and created 'Hole 'n' Vrigon', 'Amores muertos' and 'Cabos Sueltos' for the publishing house Amaniaco, and 'Vidas a Contraluz' for Diabolo Ediciones. His work was noted by Jean-David Morvan, who suggested him to Dargaud. Roger and Raule then had their violent mob thriller 'Jazz Maynard' published by this French publisher since 2007. In addition to this series, he made the social chronicle 'Pendant que le Roi de Prusse faisait la guerre, qui donc lui reprisait ses chaussettes?', starring the mentally disabled Michel, with Zidrou in 2013.

Roger has collaborated in several fanzines and has drawn short stories for the magazines Cavall Fort, Artículo 20, Lovexpress, and many others. He has made illustrations for the newspaper AVUI and Oscar Wilde books for the publishing house Bambú.
