Little Debbie, by Cecil Jensen

Cecil Jensen worked as a press illustrator and editorial cartoonist for the Chicago Daily News from 1928 to 1946. He switched over to comics in 1946, starting with a sole story of 'Syncopating Sue'. He then created the character 'Elmo', who was soon accompanied by his little sister 'Debbie'. In 1949, the little girl became the main character of the strip, which was retitled to 'Little Debbie' afterwards. Distributed by the Registe and Tribune Syndicate, the strip ran until 1961.
