Les Pieds Nickeles, by Jicka

Jacques Kalaydjian has worked as a shoe-maker, pastrycook and radio station repairer, before debuting as a cartoonist in Le Journal de l'Épicier in 1941. He subsequently drew for Résistance, L'Almanach Vermot, Marius and Samedi-Soir during the following decades. He made his first comics for Cadet Journal, starting in 1946, doing such series as 'Les Aventures du Petit Dédé'. He then made 'Les Mésaventures de Pachydou' for S.E.T.L.. He returned to comics in the 1970s as a collaborator of the magazines Le Journal des Pieds Nickelés and Trio. In 1987-88 he illustrated four albums with the 'Pieds Nickelés' for SPE.
