Contribution to Amsterdam comics paper Wat Wil West (2014)
Rudi Jonker works as an illustrator, comic artist and comic letterer through his studio Red Cat Art Productions since the 1980s. Jonker makes illustrations, character designs, logo designs, storyboards, portraits and caricatures for a variety of clients. He regularly works together with his brother, scriptwriter Frits Jonker.
'Johan Cruijff: van straatschoffie tot voetballegende'.
As a teenager he managed to get one of his comics published in the weekly amateur section 'Plant 'n Knol' of comic magazine Robbedoes (the Dutch-language version of Spirou). It ran in issue #2077 (2 February 1978). He participated in the collective comics project 'Tussen de rails' (1989), and was the author of 'De Wonderlijke Wereld van Bart', a weekly comic based on Dutch TV personality Bart de Graaff, that he produced for Veronica Gids through Jorg Bolle Producties in 1997. Jonker is the author of 'Johan Cruijff: van straatschoffie tot voetballegende', a book about the childhood of the Dutch soccer legend, that was published in commission of the Johan Cruyff Foundation by Wind Publishing in February 2014.
