comic from Pepe Cola by Lucas

Miguel Bernet Toledano, who signed with Jorge, began his comics career after the Civil War, in 1942. He worked for several publishers, until he finally joined Bruguera in 1947. For the publisher's magazine Pulgarcito, he created series like 'Melindro Gutiérrez', 'Leovigildo Viruta', 'El Vagabundo Mostacho' and 'Las Fascinantes Aventuras de Tallarín López', often in cooperation with scriptwriter Miquel Cussó.

A year later, he created 'Orlando Cucala' and his most famous character, 'Doña Urraca'. Jorge continued the adventures of this old man until his death in 1960. From then on, the comic was continued by several anonymous artists, among which his son Jordi Bernet.
