Apple Mary, by William Juhre

William Juhre took over the 'Tarzan' daily from Rex Maxon in 1936, and continued it for two years, after which Maxon resumed his duties on the strip. From 1941 to 1944, he drew the 'Draftie' newspaper strip, which he took over from the original artist, Loren Wiley, during the first year of its run. He also worked as an assistant on the 'Buck Rogers' and 'Flash Gordon' strips, and worked on 'Apple Mary' during the 1940s. He was also a cover artist on the 'Amazing Stories' series.
