Robert Julien got interested in comics through Hergé's 'Tintin', Milton Caniff's 'Terry and the Pirates' and Lee Falk's 'The Phantom'. He was a fan artist, and he cooperated on a amateur comics contest of which he became one of the finalists. Afterwards, he did contributions to Solaris, Le Chercheur de Vérité, Le Chemin de Traverse Diabolique and Zeppelin, and began working on the comics project 'Le Quêteux des Beaux Jours'.
