Fred "Frikke" Julsing Sr. was born in Groningen. He drew 'De Helse Patrouille', a series of five "beeldromans" (small comic books that fit in the palm of your hand) in 1948. Frikke Julsing, who drew under the pseudonym Larry Morgan, was the father of famous Dutch comic artist Fred Julsing Jr. He was head of the Thalia cinema in The Hague between 1935 and 1940. From 1942 to 1945 he was on the board of directors of the Grobion N.V. cinema, also in The Hague.
