Born in Fukuoka, Katsu Aki started his career in 1983 with 'Mary Rarabai' in the shôjo magazine Hana to Yume. Among his later serials are 'The Vision of Escaflowne' (1994-98), 'Futari Ecchi' (1997-) and 'Psychic Academy' (1999-2003).
