Sheldon, by Dave Kellett

Dave Kellett studied at the University of Notre Dame, near South Bend, Indiana. It was at this time he drew his first comic, 'Four Groups of the Apocalypse' for the student newspaper The Observer. The strip won the second prize in a national contest and was published in book format in 1996. Dave Kellett went on to pursue degrees in Literature (at the San Diego University of California) and Art and History (at the University of Kent, England).

He was an editorial cartoonist for the San Diego Union-Tribune, but he is best-known for creating the webcomics 'Sheldon' and 'Drive'. The first one, about a ten-year-old computer genius was launched in 1998, and the sci-fi feature 'Drive' was added as the Saturday companion piece in August 2009. Kellett is one of the few self-sufficient webcomic authors, and several collections of 'Sheldon' have been published.

Kellett is additionally a lecturer in cartooning for new media, and co-author of the Harvey-Award-nominated book 'How To Make Webcomics'.
