Ulf K. is one of the most talented new comic artists in Germany today. He studied drawing and advertising at the University of Essen, and began his career self-publishing his work under his own label Ubu Imperator. He has freelanced for publications like Greenpeace, AMICA, Geolino, GEO, Petra and Modern Living, and has worked with publishers like Bebe, Karstadt/Knowhouse and Frankenheim.
After publication in the German magazine Panel and the release of his first album 'Der Mondgucker', his strips gained international popularity. His work has been translated in French, Dutch and English. From November 1999, he published the serial 'Der Wal' in a supplement of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He continued to create new graphic novels like 'Das Jahr in dem wir Weltmeister wurden', 'Der Exlibris', 'Die nie gesagten Worte', 'Floralia' and 'Der Plan des Dr. Babylon', published by either Edition 52 or Reprodukt. Ulf K.'s work is featured in international magazines like Panel, Moga Bobo (Germany), Strapazin (Switzerland), Lapin (France), Spoutnik (Canada), Suuri Kurpitsa (Finland) and Top Shelf (USA).
In 2011 a comic book mural dedicated to his work was inaugurated in the Bloemekensgang in Turnhout, Belgium, as part of the local Comic Book route.
