Kinkie Bink

Wil Klijssen was a Dutch painter, artist, boxer and writer from the Amsterdam Jordaan district. Born Wilhelm Christiaan Klijssen, his first comic strip was 'Het jongetje op de dijk', that appeared in Wieringsweekblad in 1946. It was reprinted in Pirana in 1972. His comic 'Kinkie Bink' was published in three books by Orpheus in 1967.

Klijssen spent part of his life in prison. In 1969 he gained some media attention through his initiative K-'69, a union that tried to make an end to the difficulties that former detainees experience when returning to society. He published his autobiography 'Op de punt van een naald: De bekeerde zondaar bestaat niet' with De Arbeiderspers in 1968.
