Tarmo Koivisto is a Finnish comic artist, caricaturist and graphic designer. Born in Orivesi, he graduated from the University of Arts and Design in Helsinki in 1974. He is best known as the author of the long-running comic series 'Mämmilä' (1976-1996), a comic about everyday life in the fictitious small town Mämmilä. It originally ran in Me-lehti magazine and then in the monthly supplement issues of Finland's biggest newspaper, Helsingin Sanomat.

Koivisto continued with 'Pääkaupunki', a series that began its run in the Helsingin Sanomat monthly supplements in 1997. Other titles by Koivisto are 'Apina Kapina' and 'Kustannus Oy Jalava' (1994). He also illustrated children's books, and held comic workshops in Africa and India. He received the Finnish Comic Society Puupäähattu Award in 1978, the state Arts and Design Prize in 1992 and a national 5-year artist grant in 1997.
