After finishing the School for Hotel Management and Service, Judy Koot went on to study Painting and Illustration at the Academy of Utrecht. She published her first comic in 1996, in the Dutch magazine De Stripper. She participated in European exhibitions of Riot Grrrls comic artists and in A Woman's Comic World. She is also active in theater, painting and flyer design.
In 1985 she was one of several graphic artists to contribute to the anthology book, 'Tegenaanval' (De Lijn, 1985), initiated by Patty Klein. The book protested against the conviction of comic artist Wim Stevenhagen who refused to fulfill his military service.
