'Sammie en Muis'.
Born in Rotterdam in 1963, Andrea Kruis is the daughter of the famous comic artist Jan Kruis, who modeled his 'Jan, Jans en de Kinderen' character Catootje after her. She studied illustration and sculpting at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen. Her first comic was 'Snuit en Kornuiten', and it was published in Lego Krant between 1988 and 1993. Between 1990 and 2000, she made the comic '15½ - Het Plakboek van Fransje en Marie' about two teenage girls, for Margriet magazine.

In addition, she made 'Sammie & Muis' for Tina (2002-08) and 'Keetje en Waf-Waf' for Bobo. She also created 'Grietje' for the local newspaper Dagblad van het Noorden from 2002 to 2004 and 'Alles Goed?' in Flair in 2008. Kruis is present in Groter Groeien with 'De De Vriesjes' since 2007, in the Malmberg magazine JUF with 'Juf Jet' since 2009, and in Zwijssen's Izzie with 'De Wilde Wolven' since 2010. Andrea Kruis has illustrated several children's books.
She lives and works in the south of France with her husband and daughter since 2003. She regularly makes an illustrated column for VertrekNL magazine.
