Julien Lamanda got his interest in comics through Larouse's 'Histoire de France' collection and the adaptations of novels in Je Bouquine. He obtained his Alph'Art scholarship with a 2 page comic in 1994. Encouraged by this first success, Lamanda studied Fine Arts for three years in Brest. He created his first actual comics with scenarist Kris in the Violons Dingues fanzine. After several efforts, the duo created 'Toussaint 66', a black and white story about an orphan trying to discover his true identity.
