David Lasky has been producing comics since the early 1990s. He was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in northern Virginia, and later studied fine arts at the College of William and Mary. He began drawing mini-comics in 1991 while living in the San Francisco bay area. He moved to Seattle in 1992, and became part of the new wave of "alternative cartoonists." His first two full-length comic books, 'Arrabbiata Comics' and 'Monster City Comics' were created in collaboration with printmaker Paul Bonelli under the name Fistball Productions.
Lasky continued on his own, creating, among other work, short comic biographies of famous people, a 9-page mini-adaptation of James Joyce's 'Ulysses', 8 issues of 'Boom Boom Comics', and 2 issues of the award-nominated 'Urban Hipster'. David has done numerous short comics for anthologies such as 'Moxie', 'Hotwire', 'Kramers Ergot' and 'The Best American Comics 2006'. One of his most popular renderings is that of John Lee Hooker. David continues to live and work in Seattle.
