Thierry Laudrain, who studied advertising in Nantes, started his illustration career drawing among others posters and postcards. He began his career in comics at Vents d'Ouest publishers cooperating on several humorous collective works. His first solo work was 'La BD des Copines'. He then succeeded 'Joe Bar' artist Fane on the 'Calagan' series, written by Jean-Pierre Fontenay and Pat Perna.
