Dzarto, by Sebastijan Lehner

Sebastijan Lechner was one of the youngest artists active during wat is called the Golden Age of Serbian comics, the 1930s. He was born in the Croatian city Osijek. By the age of 17, he had already published three comics in Paja Patak (Donald Duck) magazine; 'Dzarto, junak preistorijskog doba', 'Tajanstveno ostrvo u Tihom okeanu' and 'Zitelji planete Monip'. From 1939, he was present in Mikijevo Carstvo with the series 'Gospodar svijeta', 'D┼żatro', 'Sigfrid' and 'Princ Bialčo'. The latter remained unfinished due to the outbreak of World War II. Unlike most of his contemporaries, Lechner usually wrote his own scripts. 'Dzarto' was also printed in the French magazine Gavroche under the title 'Sartor'. It is unknown what happened to Sebastijan Lechner during World War II.
