'Doings Of the Van Loons'.
Frederic Isaac Leipziger was born in 1869 in Stockholm, Sweden, but eventually settled in Detroit, where he became a cartoonist with The Detroit News. He drew the daily family comedy strip 'Doings of the Van Loons' for the McClure newspaper syndicate from 5 December 1910 to 1925. It was the first contractual daily strip, a strip that a syndicate paid to have produced 6 times per week, 52 weeks per year. He passed away in 1935 in Detroit, Michigan.
