J. Michael Leonard started his cartooning career in underground comix in the 1970s, contributing to various comix magazines. His comix' titles include 'The Cloven Tree' for No Ducks magazine and the better known 'Star Weevils'. For Hugh Hefner's Playboy, he drew the series 'Annie & Albert', printed in the 'Playboy Funnies' section from October 1979 on.
