Bruno Liljefors was born in Uppsala, Sweden in 1860. He studied at the Art Academy in Stockholm and also in Düsseldorf with the painter Carl Deiker. Liljefors lived in Paris in 1883-1884 and in Grez-sur-Loing in 1886. He also visited Italy, and eventually he returned to Sweden and settled in Uppsala. he became a famous painter of hunting scenes, but he also tried his hand at an early form of comics, collected in the album 'Karrikatyrer'.
Bruno Liljefors was an influence on Albert Engström and Alexey Komarov.
