Henry, by John Liney (1956)

John Liney was Carl Anderson's assistant on the 'Henry' newspaper strip from 1936. He was a gag writer for 'Henry' between 1936 and 1942, and was involved in teh pencilling 1942. He took over the daily strip completely after Anderson became ill in 1942, and continued it on his own until 1979. The Sunday page was continued by Anderson's other assistant, Don Trachte. Liney was succeeded by Jack Tippit. Liney was also responsible for the art of the 'Henry' comic books published by Dell from the mid-1940s until the early 1960s.
