'Salomon Barkowitz' (Spirou, 1987)

Marc Lumer is a French designer and illustrator, based in Los Angeles, California. He studied Illustration in Brussels, Belgium, and began working for the comic magazines Spirou (1985-87) and Tintin (1989) after graduating. He drew mostly independent stories, as well as ones starring the character 'Salomon Barkowitz' for Spirou.

He moved to L.A. in the mid-1990s to take a position as a visual development artist on Warner Bros' 'Batman Beyond' and 'Superman' animated series. Later, he worked under Jeffrey Katzenberg at Dreamworks on 'The Road to El Dorado' and 'The Prince of Egypt. He also collaborated with Brad Bird and on a variety of projects for Disney TV Animation, Turner Feature Animation, Sony TV Animation and Film Roman. Lumer has additionally illustrated children's books, and runs Marc Lumer Design since 2004.
