Piyale Madra was born in Ankara and studied at the School of Fine Arts in Grenoble, France, for a period of two years. She then returned to Turkey where she attended the National Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul. She made her professional debut with 'Picnic' in the magazine Milliyet. After several months, the series was transported to the daily Cumhuriyet. In 1994, she began her popular series 'Adams and Eves' in the Yeni Yüzyil newspaper. This series is now published in Radikal.
